Getting to know Joanne…
JoAnne was raised in a family of 11 children in rural southwestern Ontario near Lake Huron.
JoAnne attended Mount St Joseph Academy, The University of Western Ontario and Teacher’s College in London, Ontario. She is married to her treasured husband, is the mother of three adult sons and grandmother of 3 precious grandchildren. She presently resides with her husband, Richard in LaSalle, Ontario.
She started her professional career in 1968 as an elementary school teacher. This career taught her a great deal about being prepared and organized. In 1975 she retired from teaching to take up full-time homemaking which required mastering the skill of multi-tasking. She rejoined the workforce in 1982 to assist her friend Nancy in her Colours franchise, a wardrobe/make-up consulting service. This is where she learned the love of service and sales.
The following year she and her husband bought The Kettle Creek Canvas Company franchise, a cottage industry retail clothing business. This business called for a great deal of planning, promotion, attention to detail, managing and training staff. This is when it became essential for her to master public speaking to commentate and coordinate the many fashion shows required to gain exposure for their clothing line.
She became a licensed realtor in January 1989 and thus began her 28 year, very successful career in the field of sales. Skills and personal qualities demanded in this profession were high energy, a positive outlook, persistence, tenacity, competence, organizational skills, a sincere love of people, strong listening and interviewing skills, consistent follow-up, and matchmaking and total dedication to the profession. She had to be well planned for each day and then be totally flexible to change it up to meet the shifting demands of the day.
Her mantra during this time was, “A true professional is at her best regardless…” and her personal her motto was, “The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little bit extra,” to remind her to dig deep for that something extra to offer in service to her clients.
In 2010 she was featured in the book, The Windsor and Essex Who’s Who, Local Leaders and People of Influence and her business card was once featured on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. JoAnne`s On-Purpose Story is featured in the just released book, Wholehearted Purpose, stories of On-Purpose Women compiled by Mary Tomlinson.
In 2013 she completed her Certified Coaches Federation designation to refine her mentoring and coaching skills. As a Practitioner she focuses on Life Purpose, Re-connecting Dreams, Sales& Service Productivity, and Life/Career Transition Coaching.
She also completed her first, second and third degree Reiki instruction in 2013 to increase her awareness and develop her intuitive skills which are essential to hearing direction in one’s own life and in the lives of clients she serves. She’s passionate about living consciously and having life be meaningful. All the work she’s ever done has allowed her to earn a living by serving people in alignment with her highest values which are: integrity and kindness.
With the launch of The On-Purpose® Lady, she utilizes all these life skills acquired over the years to help others become their best version of themselves. Recently JoAnne and her husband Richard were the featured family in a local magazine called Neighbours of La Salle where they shared their experiences in the various businesses they have operated over the years and about what is truly important to them… On-Purpose of course!
Her hobbies include enjoying nature through walking meditation, camping, kayaking, hiking, cross-country skiing, painting, reading and studying personal development material.
